Farsighted - Emlyn Chand Farsighted was a good book. Emlyn is very good at describing details well without making it boring, a perk when the main character is blind. Although it begins a little slowly, by 1/4-1/3 of the way thru I was hooked. I really enjoyed all the characters and how different they were. It's amazing how Alex is able to use his other senses and most of the time gets along as well as his sighted peers. My main issue within the book is how conflicted I was over Alex. He's the main character and although I felt like I should love him ( we always love the main characters, don't we?), I went back and forth between like him and being so annoyed with him. At times he is able, confident & willing to stick his life on the line to save a friend.. Yet at other times, he is impulsive, immature and selfish. I guess he's a typical teenage boy- argh.

I did love the two female characters. Their friendship with each other and with Alex is refreshing. Simmi is overly sweet and blames herself when anything goes wrong- she reminds me a bit of myself in highschool.. Sharpi is definitely my favorite- I love her personality and can't wait for more of her story! Overall, I felt that Farsighted was a great beginning to a series that I can't wait to read more of!
